Location: Lake Hood, Ashburton. Take a left of the Main South Rd into Grahams Road at Tinwad, straight onto Strangers Road then left into Lake Hood Drive.

Half Ironman 90km. 3 lap 30k loop
Sprint Course 30km 1 lap 30k
Run Course Description
Half Ironman 21km - 3 Lap course
Sprint 7 km - 1 lap course
Cycle Course Aid Stations 3 x 30km laps
The aid station on the 90km cycle course is at the turn around 30km from start back in the village. stocked with - water and electrolyte drink.
Slow down when entering pickup zone; don't stop!
Discard bidons in designated area prior to pick up zone. Do not discard on any other part of course. You are required to start the event with all bidon cages on your cycle full.
Run Course Aid Stations
There are a total of six aid stations, maximum 2.5k apart.
Recovery
Water, electrolyte drink and fruit will be available after you cross the finish line.
Massage First Aid
Massages are available Sunday. The massage tent will be located onsite near the recovery area. There is a charge for this service.
St Johns First Aid will be available throughout the race and on the course. Please ask for medical help if you have any hint that you may need it. Conditions on the day may be hot, humid and windy.
Please ensure you hydrate well before, during and after the race.

Parking
Parking for athletes and spectators will be to the left of the road opposite the Lake House. All spectators please have your car parked by the race start time of 8.30am.

6.30am Registration Opens
6.30 am Lake Hood, Transition area opens
6.30 am Body numbering - note Body numbering stops at 7.45am
8:15 am Briefing for Half Ironman competitors at swim start
8.30 am All Half Ironman competitors start
8.30 am Transition area closes to all short course competitors
8.45 am Briefing for Sprint Course competitors at swim start
9.00 am All Sprint Course competitors start
3.30 pm Course closes (7 hour cut off)
4.00 pm Prize Giving, Presentations, prizes and spot prizes
We will have the Short course Triathlon Prizegiving around midday. This is to avoid athletes waiting until 4.00pm for the prizegiving.
Prize giving for Half Ironman will be held at 4.00pm Venue 2012 to be confirmed

Spot prizes will be given out following the awards presentation by a random race number draw. To be in the draw on completion of your race place your race number in the container provided. You must be present to collect any spot prize.

Race Results will be posted as soon as possible after the race in the registraion area. Race Results will also be available on this website.

Refunds will only be given for Half Ironman athletes who withdraw prior to 31 October 2011 less a $50 administration fee. There will be refunds less expenses incurred to date in the event of the race being cancelled due to bad weather or any other conditions that would be deemed to be unsafe for the race to proceed.
No refunds will be given for olympic, or Half Marathon cancellations.
